What's the difference of the GLP-1 Meds?

Have you wondered what the difference between the 2 GLP-1 meds are?  They are all GLP-1 meds that help you better utilize carbohydrates, blood sugar and insulin use.  They also help reduce appetite and they also help you with binge eating, sensors in the brain (food noise).

According to the studies. the use of Semaglutide: Ozempic & Wegovy, you should lose 15% of your body weight over the course of 16 months.

Tirzepatide: Mounjaro & Zepbound, you can expect 20% weight loss over 1.5 years, according to clinical studies.  Most will also say there are fewer side effects with this medication.

The average is 40-50 lbs for most people.  You do hear these numbers are higher on social media.

Now, what happens when you quit?  According to the studies, you're looking at about 70% of weight regain upon quitting these meds.  Scary, right?

Why?

One of the significant side effects is you lose up to 40% of muscle mass just by taking these meds.  Think of your muscle mass being the engine that burns calories.  When you reach your goal weight, and are now taking in way more calories (because you’re not in weight loss mode any longer)  and have up to 40% less muscle mass to burn all the extra calories.  This is why most people, regardless of taking meds or just dieting on their own, experience weight gain.

These medications are being prescribed without guidance or check-ins.

By having a plan in place or better yet, working with a weight loss coach at Ideally You, can put you on the right plan to work better with the medicine to lose more, keep your lean muscle mass, and learn how to keep the weight off.
